Seconds

In this work we involve the audience’s own choices to help determine time perception. Seconds is an interactive performance-installation that takes place in a small cube. Only four audience members may enter the cube at any one time to have an intimate encounter with the dancers. It’s up to the remaining public outside of the cube to decide how long the four may stay to watch before having to make way for four others to enter. Seconds is set to a slowly unfolding poem that serves as both soundtrack and a master-clock that counts down the 15 minutes of the performance. Members of the public decide intuitively how to ‘share’ the performance, making the available time a resource that they communally take responsibility for.
